Alexey was killed only six months after arriving in Israel with his family from the Ukraine. They are not Jewish, but came to work in Israel to save money, hoping to improve their financial situation and then to return home.
Alexey is survived by his parents, Lova and Ivan, and by his older sister. His family has announced that they will return to the Ukraine, where Alexey is to be buried.
